Dark Water_ Kirthana Selvaraj

A few weeks ago I shared a portrait session with the talented Miss Kirthana Selvaraj artist extraordinaire. Well wednesday night I had the privilege of attending the opening of her first solo exhibition. The space it was located in "The Tate Gallery" was a rough and rugged warehouse space with worn floorboards and boarded up windows which completely complimented the soft more feminine artwork. A projected video of Kirthana's processes was shown as speed drawings on the white wall and black rose petals were scatted around the room. The vibe was a buzz. I completely recommend a visit before its too late. Closes on Sunday at the TATE Gallery Glebe, Sydney.

Twice upon vintage

There is a very cute vintage clothing shop located in a small white house with a verandah in Newcastle called Twice upon vintage. The thing that originally caught my eye was the dresses floating in the wind out the front of the shop. I walked in to a wall full of old time wooden clocks that lined the wall. You notice the tasseled lamp shades an cosy looking worn in chairs as well as the racks of well preserved vintage clothing from a range of eras. Loved the feathered wall paper.

Olympus Trip 35

At the end of last year I really got back into my film photography, which I really should be doing more of because I own about 5 film cameras. Anyway here are some of the results. I like the grainy slightly defocused effect but I'm not so sure about the glow. Most of the images were taken on a trip to Melbourne.
